Context

What is Itinker?

iTinker is a ed tech platform that provides courses like Machine learning, Ar/Vr through to students that are delivered through the mobile application.

The platform also offers practical opportunities for hands-on learning. It enable students to apply their newly acquired skills with tools such as microcontroller boards, Bluetooth modules, and Robotic arms and them encourage to build small projects.

How does it works?

Students gets a list of required tools that they can buy from their nearby stores and can practice their newly acquired skills. They have to submit the photographs of their creation as a mandatory requirement to complete the course.

What was the problem we faced?

We observed a trend of students consistently missing course deadlines and decline in course completion rate. Further inquiry revealed a common problem that the tools required to build the project were not easily available in their nearby stores.

Decline in the course completion rate

due to

Lack of availability of tools that are required to submit the project.

Design Challenge

Solution

Introduced the 'Store' feature in the mobile app, providing users with a seamless way to order required course materials/products, enhancing the overall user experience and efficiency in course completion.

Initial wireflow

Task 1: Browse Product

User Story: As a users, I want to browse products so that I can practice my learnings.

Iteration 1:

User access search bar or select the browsing category.

User select to browse the products

Views product based on their course and the products that are not based on their course

User access search bar or select the browsing category.

What worked?

The screens clearly layout the course and products

Users have choice to select browsing between products or courses

What did not work?

Users are unable to browse products related to specific courses

What I proposed?

Iteration 2:

Introduced a filter and user can select the specific courses to view the related products.
